Rather busy weekend passed with EFC official competitions taking place in 7 different cities and countries, starting with Bratislava.

Traditional ECC tournament took place in Bratislava, bringing new records as far as the numbers of participants are concerned. Total of 288 fencers brought together in the men’s epee competition implied the high level of the competition from which emerged single winner from Russia (Tolasov Atrur), followed by Biro Alexander (AUT). Bronze medals took Brykner Matyas (CZE) and Avramidis Theodoros (GRE).

Women’s epee in Bratislava ended with Hungarian triumph of Buki Lili, that defeated Bavuge Khabimana Milen (RUS) in the final. Third place shared Zozulya Christina (CAN) and Bekmurzova Yana (RUS). On the pistes of women’s epee competition stood 241 athletes!

Dominance of USA fencers was projected in the men’s foil competition (in total 170 fencers) with 5 USA fencers in the final 8, taking gold (Reid Clayton) silver (Olivares Marcello) and bronze (Louie Bryce), leaving the only medal position left for Szemes Gergo (HUN).
