European Fencers Dominating Weekend at World Cups and Grand Prix Events

Over the past weekend, the world of fencing witnessed a remarkable display of skill and determination as European fencers dominated the Grand Prix events in Seoul and Cali, along with the World Cup in Hong Kong. The European Fencing Confederation is proud to announce the outstanding achievements of our athletes, who showcased their talent and expertise on the international stage.

In the Seoul Grand Prix , which featured the sabre discipline, European fencers demonstrated their prowess with remarkable performances. In the women's sabre category, Spain's Araceli Navarro claimed the gold medal, showcasing her exceptional skill and determination. Joining her on the podium were two French athletes, Sarah Noutcha and Sara Balzer, who secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively. Lucia Martin-Portugues from Spain also clinched a bronze medal, further solidifying Europe's dominance in the event.

Meanwhile, at the Cali Grand Prix, it was the women's epee category that witnessed European excellence. Auriane Mallo-Breton from France showcased her mastery of the epee, clinching the gold medal and affirming her status as one of the top fencers in the world. Giulia Rizzi and Federica Isola from Italy secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively, highlighting the depth of talent within European fencing.

In the Hong Kong  World Cup , the foil discipline took center stage, with European fencers once again proving their mettle. Guillaume Bianchi from Italy emerged victorious in the men's foil category, demonstrating precision and finesse in every bout. Additionally, the women's foil team from Italy delivered a stellar performance, clinching the gold medal and cementing Europe's dominance in foil fencing.
