Commissions and Councils
Commissions and Councils of Eurofencing are specialised bodies established to assist the Executive Committee in the management and development of European fencing activities. They provide expert advice, prepare proposals, and oversee specific areas such as refereeing, competitions, training, promotion, and equality, ensuring that Eurofencing operates efficiently and in accordance with its Statutes.
Mandatory Commissions include the Training/Fencing Masters, Promotion/Marketing, Referees, Competitions, Legal, Medical, and Technical (SEMI) Commissions, as well as the Veterans Council and the Equality and Diversity Commission. Each Commission is chaired by a member of the Executive Committee and consists of up to eight individuals appointed from member federations. Auxiliary Commissions may be created as needed to address emerging priorities.
Commissions and Councils meet at least once a year, either online or in person, to review their areas of responsibility, propose improvements, and report their activities and recommendations to the Executive Committee. Their work ensures that Eurofencing’s policies and regulations are continuously developed and applied across Europe, supporting the growth and integrity of the sport.
