The first day of the Junior European Championships in Naples showcased an exhilarating display of talent and skill, with intense competitions in men's epee, women's foil, and women's sabre.

Junior Men's Epee:

In a dazzling display of fencing finesse, Dov Ber Vilensky from Israel emerged as the gold medallist in the Men's Epee category. His precise and strategic manouevres secured a well-deserved victory. Colin Mumenthaler from Switzerland showcased tenacity on the piste, earning him the silver medal. The bronze medal was shared between Matthew Buelau of Germany and Artem Sarkisyan of AIN (affiliated independent nation), both demonstrating exceptional skills in a closely contested competition. 

 

Junior Women's Foil:

Carolina Stutchbury of Great Britain illuminated the Women's Foil competition with her exceptional skills, claiming the gold medal. Polina Volobueva of AIN (affiliated independent nation) displayed grace and precision to secure the silver. The bronze medals were awarded to Garance Roger of France and Matilde Molinari of Italy, both showcasing remarkable performances and contributing to the event's intensity.

 

Junior Women's Sabre:

Emma Neikova from Bulgaria dominated the Women's Sabre competition, clinching the gold medal with a powerful and commanding performance. Anna Spiesz of Hungary demonstrated swift and calculated strikes, earning her the silver. The bronze medals were shared by Amalia Covaliu of Romania and Felice Herbon of Germany, both exhibiting skill and resilience in their pursuit of victory. In an exclusive interview, Neikova shared her thoughts on this challenging yet rewarding victory:

"It is a very hard-earned medal because I am still a cadet competing against juniors. I feel incredibly happy and couldn't believe it when I made it to the T4. I am feeling great, and surprisingly, I don't feel any tiredness."

Neikova attributed her success to her unwavering motivation and the joy she brought to her performance:

"My super strength today was the motivation, and I fenced today with happiness. It's an incredible feeling to achieve this victory.”
