The third day at the European Cadet and Junior Championships in Naples delivered a thrilling display of talent and determination as young fencers competed in the cadet team events for men's epee, women's foil, and women's sabre. Among the events, the women's sabre team competition stood out with intense moments of excitement, challenges, and ultimate satisfaction for the victorious teams.


 

Cadet Mens Epee Team

 

In the men’s epee team competition, the atmosphere was intense as talented fencers showcased their skills on the piste. Teams from various European countries demonstrated their strategic prowess and determination to secure victory. After a series of thrilling matches, the gold medal was ultimately claimed by Ukraine. They exhibited exceptional coordination and fencing prowess to clinch the top spot, highlighting their commitment to excellence on the piste.Turkey and Switzerland also delivered impressive performances, securing the silver and bronze medals, respectively, showcasing the depth of talent and competitive spirit within European fencing.

Cadet Womens Foil Team

 

The women's foil team competition brought together some of the most promising fencers from across Europe, each vying for a place on the podium. Poland claimed the first-place victory.

 

In an exclusive interview with them, they reflected on the challenges faced throughout the day. "It was a tough day, and each of us encountered formidable opponents. Our success resulted not only from individual efforts but also from the strength of our camaraderie. Friendship played a crucial role; we are not just individuals but a united team.”

 

The emphasis on support and unity within the team was evident. "No matter what, we had to support each other. In challenging moments, we rallied together, offering encouragement and maintaining open communication. Our collective strength was pivotal in overcoming the hurdles," emphasized another team member.

 

The pinnacle of their journey came in the final bout, acknowledged as the most challenging. "The final was the hardest bout, but we conquered it together. Everything clicked today; our focus was unwavering, and we gave our absolute best. Throughout the final match, the support from teammates and coaches was unwavering, ensuring that no one succumbed to mental pressure.”

 

When asked about the secret to their success, the team attributed it to the power of friendship. "Our superpower was definitely friendship. We drew strength from each other, creating a bond that transcended the fencing arena. Special mention goes to our friend Voevodska in Poland; her support was invaluable. Our gratitude extends to other friends, families, and supporters who played a crucial role in our triumph.”

 

As they bask in the glory of their achievements, the Polish Women’s Foil team expresses hope for the future. "We are proud of what we accomplished today, and we aspire to continue this success in the coming years. Friendship will remain our guiding force, propelling us to greater heights.”

Benedetta Stangoni, Francesca Romana Lentini, Vittoria Mocci, and Diletta Fusetti demonstrated their resilience and determination in each match, overcoming tough opponents and obstacles with grace and strength.

 

When asked about the toughest match they had to face, the team mentioned that the greatest challenge was managing their emotions due to the high stakes of the competition. However, through a combination of focus, teamwork, and determination, they were able to channel their emotions into their performance and emerge victorious.

 

Each member of the Italian team brought their unique superpower to the competition, contributing to their success on the fencing strip. Vittoria brought speed and instinct, Diletta embodied calmness and wisdom, Benedetta displayed impulsiveness and fiery determination, while Francesca Romana showcased strength and courage. Together, they formed a formidable team that proved unbeatable in the women's sabre event.
