ESPOO FENCING CHALLENGE COMPETITION GATHERED U17 AND U14 EPEE FENCERS FROM 31 COUNTRIES TO FINLAND

The third edition of Espoo Fencing Challenge, EFC´s U17 epee Cadet Circuit (individual and team) and EFC´s U14 Circuit was held in Espoo Finland, just less than 20 kilometers outside the center of the capital city Helsinki. 

The individual competitions were observed as all other competitions in Cadets Circuit by delegate assigned by the EFC Referees commission, in this case by Matthias Henkelmann (GER). During the referee seminar the new U2F rule (passivity) was largely discussed.

Finnish epee fencer,16 years old Akseli Heinämaa, won his first Cadet Circuit title in Espoo in front of his home crowd. Abu Eid Tjulin from Sweden won the women epee individual title. In Sunday´s team event the Ukrainian and Estonian teams fenced for gold.
In U14 competition gold for Sweden and Great Britain.
