Bratislava became one more time the centre of worldwide cadets fencing.

Unexpectedly new records were recorded in tournament Coupe du Danube 2019 in Bratislava (Slovakia), when in total 856 fencers (307 in women epee, 347 in men epee and 202 in men foil) took part completed by 152 teams (62 in women epee, 71 in men epee and 19 in men foil). The statistics offered by utilized fencing management software (FT) offered as the total of involved persons 984 (fencers and referees together). At the end of three days of competitions the winners were traditionally “big fencing countries” – Russia, USA and Hungary. The individual competitions were observed as all other competitions in Cadets Circuit by delegates assigned by the EFC Referees commission, in this case by Martina Ganassin (ITA) and Javier Lorenzo (ESP), who effectuated difficult, but great job, carefully evaluating the candidates of EFC “C” licence in foil and epee, whose number was higher than 100 (!).Winners and medallists: RUS in all 3 individual competitions (women epee, men epee and men foil), but also in men epee teams, USA in women epee teams and finally HUN in men foil teams.
