This weekend saw young fencers from across Europe competing in Cadet, U23, and U14 events held in Austria, Sweden, France, Norway, and Romania. With intense matches and outstanding performances, here’s a summary of the key results across the circuits.
Cadet Circuit – Klagenfurt, Austria
In Klagenfurt, cadet fencers took to the piste for thrilling epee competitions. Italy’s Francesco Delfino clinched the men’s epee gold, after a final against Germany’s Levi Deng. Belgium’s Wout Van Laecke and Greece’s Vasileios Tsokas completed the men’s podium with shared third-place finishes. In the women’s epee event, Natalie Coufalova from Czechia emerged victorious, narrowly edging out Italy’s Margherita Raiteri, who settled for silver. Linnea Eriksson from Sweden and Maria Roberta Agata Casale from Italy rounded out the podium with bronze medals.
The team events were equally competitive, with Ukraine capturing the top spot in the men’s epee, Italy taking silver, and Turkey securing bronze. Cadet Circuit – Gothenburg, Sweden
Gothenburg hosted the Cadet Circuit’s foil events, where Austria’s Lauro Falchetto won gold in the men’s category, demonstrating exceptional skill against Hungary’s Aron Peter Bodor, who took silver. Qatar’s Adham Eldeeb and Great Britain’s Mohammed Belbouab completed the podium with third-place finishes. On the women’s side, Chloe Chen from the USA captured the gold medal, outpacing Czechia’s Katerina Illekova, who earned silver. Latvia’s Liene Abele and Singapore’s Chuxi Sheng shared third place.
In team events, France’s team triumphed in the men’s foil, with Great Britain’s first team taking silver and France’s second team securing bronze. U23 European Circuit – Colmar, France
The U23 European Circuit in Colmar saw a display of high-level fencing in the epee discipline. Switzerland’s Ian Hauri delivered a stellar performance to secure the men’s gold, while his compatriot Hadrien Favre took silver. Italy’s Simone Mencarelli and Rafael Tulen from the Netherlands rounded out the podium, each finishing with a bronze. In the women’s epee event, France dominated, with Alexandra Louis Marie taking first place and Lauren Rembi securing silver. Italy’s Vittoria Siletti and Switzerland’s Angela Krieger both earned bronze, highlighting the strong competition across nations.

EFC FFE Circuit – Oslo, Norway
The Oslo event, part of the EFC FFE Circuit, saw impressive performances in both the individual and team epee events. Estonia’s Erik Tobias emerged victorious in the men’s epee final, edging out Great Britain’s Cador Beautyman, who took second place. Estonian teammates Markus Salm and Edvin Jahu shared third place. In the women’s epee, Sofija Prosina from Latvia took gold, with Denmark’s Fenja Apsarah Redlich finishing in second. Sweden’s Sara Mikulak and Estonia’s Leana Mironov each claimed bronze, marking a successful showing for Scandinavian and Baltic fencers.

In the men’s sabre event at the U14 European Circuit, Stelică Marian Petre took gold, with fellow countryman Victor Ionescu earning silver. Romanian fencers Ianis Baltariu and Matei Bunghez completed the podium in third place. In the women’s sabre competition, Carla Lisneanu won gold, followed closely by Erika Glavaschi, who took silver. Elisa Burghelea and Larisa Gheorghe finished in third place, completing an all-Romanian podium.
