Exciting Start to Junior Events at European Championships
The European Junior and Cadet Fencing Championships 2025 kicked off the junior competitions in Antalya with an intense day of individual events in men’s épée, women’s foil, and women’s sabre. Held at the Antalya Spor Salonu, the championship brought together the brightest young talents of the continent, each vying for the coveted European title.
Men's Épée
In the men’s épée event, fencers displayed both precision and resilience in thrilling matchups. Throughout the pools and knockout rounds, the competition remained fierce, with tactical prowess determining the final outcome. Ultimately, the gold medal was claimed by Domonkos Pelle from Hungary, who delivered a masterful performance in the final bout, overcoming Germany’s Matthew Buelau. The bronze medals were shared by Marco Francesco Locatelli of Italy and Bartosz Kuznik of Poland, following their strong displays in the semifinals.

Women's Foil
Meanwhile, in women’s foil, the event saw electrifying clashes as the fencers showcased speed and technique. Italy’s Matilde Molinari emerged victorious, navigating through a challenging tableau to secure the gold. Her final opponent, Letizia Gabola, also from Italy, put up an exceptional fight, pushing the match to its limits. The bronze medalists, Kristina Petrova of Ukraine and Ludovica Franzoni of Italy, demonstrated their consistency and high-level fencing throughout the competition.

Women's Sabre
The women’s sabre event added another layer of excitement to the day, featuring fast-paced and aggressive exchanges. Aleksandra Mikhailova, competing under the AIN flag, claimed the European title after a series of high-intensity bouts, edging past Georgia’s Alexandra Kuvaeva in a fiercely contested final. The bronze medalists, Gaia Karola Carafa and Vittoria Mocci, both from Italy, left a strong impression with their skillful and determined performances.
