Female Foil Fencers Shine at Cadet European Circuit 31, Coupe de Samaria in Slovakia

The Cadet European Circuit, 31 Coupe de Samaria, was held in Slovakia from September 30th to October 1st. The competition showcased the remarkable prowess of the athletes in both individual and team events. Let's take a closer look at the highlights from this exhilarating competition.

In the women's individual foil category, it was Anna Kollar from Hungary who emerged as the ultimate champion, claiming the gold medal. Kollar displayed sheer dominance throughout the competition, securing victory in all her bouts with resounding confidence. Impressively, she never allowed her opponents to score more than 10 points, except in a tough match against Italian fencer Franzoni Ludovica (15:12). The silver medal in the women's individual foil category went to Berretta Mariavittoria, representing Italy. Claiming the bronze medals in the women's individual foil event were Simon Borbala from Hungary and Nowakowska Aleksandra from Poland. 

Moving on to the Cadet Team Women's Foil event, it was Italy who established their dominance by claiming the top position. The team, consisting of Berretta Mariavittoria, Ludovica Franzoni, Sofia Mancini, and Greta Saioni, displayed remarkable teamwork and strategy, securing a well-deserved victory. 

Italy's second team, comprising Lucrezia Monti, Martina Lazzeri, Ginevra Guerrini, and Maria Elisa Fattori, displayed exceptional skill and ended the competition in a second place. 

A notable mention goes to the Polish team, which clinched the third-place position after a nail-biting match against the Hungarian team. The Polish team, consisting of Kinga Kowalska, Natasza Kus, Aleksandra Nowakowska, and Zuzanna Wojewódzka, emerged victorious with a narrow 45-44 score.
