Reigning champions Italy beat Poland in the grand final to claim the gold, Italy’s third so far in Tallinn.
Italy - Greta Collini, Vittoria Pinna, Sofia Giordani, Elvira Mariavittoria, Beretta - had a convincing win over Sweden 45-13 in the table of 16, followed up by a hardfought win in the quarterfinal against Israel. With a tied score of 33-33 entering the final period, individual champion Vittoria Pinna carried the team on her back and brought home the victory 43-38. In the semi-final the Italians defeated France 45-33 to gain a chance to defend their title from 2022.
Second-ranked Poland - Hanna Wojtas, Natasza Kuś, Aleksandra Nowakowska, Marta Jakubowska - reached the final after comfortable wins over Spain 45-18, Greece 45- 29 and Hungary 45-24 in the semi-final.
Italy had a sizeable lead, 30-22. entering the final third of the final. An impressive 10-5 bout from Natasza Kus saw the lead shrink to just 3 points, 35-32. From there however, the Italian girls regained the pace and defended their title by winning 45- 36.
In the bronze bout Hungary - Anna Kollar, Szonja Badar, Jazmin Pappa and Jazmin Sperka - beat France 44-41 to secure the medal.
