The world fencing championships of juniors and cadets started today in Verona, Italy. The competition presented us first two events of juniors category, men's and women's epee. Luidgi Midelton (FRA) prevailed in men's epee event as he defeated Davide Di Veroli (ITA) in close final match 14:13. Third place shared Tamas Mate Koch (HUN) and Midelton's teammate Lilian Nguefack.
Women's epee competition ended with a triumph of Russia's Anastasia Soldatova (RUS) that def. Julia Falinska (POL) in the gold medal match. Bronze medals went to Hungarian fencers Emma Borsody and Kinga Nagy.
