European Fencing Talent Takes Center Stage in Zrenjanin and Budapest

European fencing talents showcased their skills this weekend in Zrenjanin, Serbia, and Budapest, Hungary, as U14 and U23 athletes competed fiercely for podium finishes.

Zrenjanin: U14 Competitions

In Zrenjanin, the U14 Men's Épée category saw Serbia’s Marko Tomasevic clinch the gold representing MK Partizan, while British James Dunmall secured the silver for British Fencing. Bronze was shared by Romania’s Andrei Stoica from Steaua Brasov and Zachary De Voogd from the Netherlands' Zaal Kardolus.

The U14 Women's Épée title was claimed by Estonia’s Gedi-Loore Teral from En Garde, outscoring Eliana Yunusi-Parikh from Luso Fencing Academy in Great Britain. Danka Stanojevic from MK Partizan and Una Petkovic from MK Omladinac, both representing Serbia, took the shared bronze.

In the U14 Men's Foil event, Hungary’s Lorand Kosztolanyi delivered a standout performance to win gold for Szigetszentmiklosi Tor Egylet, with Charles Stirling of British Fencing taking the silver. Bronze positions were occupied by Rares Popescu of Romania’s ACS Floreta Timisoara and Hungary’s Daniel Szabo.

The U14 Women's Foil saw Sofiia Garanina from Cyprus’ Achilleas SC triumph over Hungary’s Dalma Spissak from Hodmezovasarhely, with Aleksandra Pensa from Great Britain and Bori Timar from Hodmezovasarhely both earning bronze.

Budapest: U23 Foil Action

Meanwhile, in Budapest, Hungary’s Gergely Toth dominated the U23 Men's Foil competition, claiming gold in a home victory, with compatriot Andras Nemeth taking silver. Croatia’s Borna Spoljar and Hungary’s Andor Istvan Mihalyi secured the bronze spots.

In the U23 Women's Foil, Italy’s Matilde Calvanese emerged victorious, edging out Erika Nekifor of Hungary. Viktoria Mesteri from Hungary and Giulia Amore from Italy shared the bronze.
