U23 in Esslingen – Felix Klein (FC Tauberbischofsheim) successful at the „5th Burg-Cup“

The fencing club of SV 1845 Esslingen was hosting its 5^th edition of the “Burg-Cup” in men’s foil on December 8^th, 2018. This year 132 athletes from 10 countries met in Esslingen to fence for the trophies and ranking points in the EFC U23 ranking and the German senior’s ranking.

After a long day of excellent foil fencing, Felix Klein from Tauberbischofsheim (GER) qualified for the final match with a 15:8 victory against Benoit Hecher from Paris (FRA). His opponent in the final was Marius Braun from Munich (GER) who eliminated Tobias Reichetzer from Mödling (AUT) in a close semifinal with 15:13.

In the final match, Felix Klein dominated his opponent and won the “Burg-Cup” with 15:8.

At the end of the day the Esslingen fencers could look back on a great competition without any major issues and are looking forward to host it again in the next season!
