The Italian team overcame Germany in the final
Italy takes home the European women's sabre title. Di Carlo Alessia, Giovanelli Vally, Fusetti Benedetta and Rotili Claudia concluded the path to victory by overcoming Germany (Funke Julika, Gette Lisa, Herbon Felice, Kurth Emily), number 1 in the ranking, in the final 45-27. By beating first the Spain of Gallardo Itziar, Montoya Paula, Perez Zurutuza Ainhoa and Ventura Maria 45-38, the Italian Team then imposed itself in the semifinal on Poland (Cieslar Zuzanna, Lenkiewicz Zuzanna, Skonieczna Daria, Zawodniak Malgorzata) 45-42. Germany, on the other hand, reached the final winning first with Bulgaria, captained by the new U23 European Champion, Ilieva Yoana, then beating France (Clapier Faustine, Lusinier Kelly, Mouroux Mathilde, Rioux Cyrielle) 45-31.
The latter went on to win the bronze medal, beating Poland 45-34.
