Young Fencers Shine at U14 European Circuit Events in Espoo, Paris, and Ub

The latest U14 European Circuit tournaments showcased the remarkable talent and determination of young fencers across three cities—Espoo, Paris, and Ub. These competitions provided an invaluable experience for the next generation of fencers, delivering thrilling performances and unforgettable moments. 

U14 Épée Action in Espoo, Finland 

Espoo played host to an exciting U14 épée tournament, where young fencers from across Europe and beyond demonstrated their skills. In the boys’ épée event, China’s LAI Qiyong claimed the top spot, overcoming a strong international field. BULAKERI Toprak from Turkey secured the silver medal, while USMANOV Kamil and ROMANKO Georgi, both from Estonia, shared the bronze. 

The girls’ épée competition saw an impressive performance from Sweden’s ANDERSSON Sophia, who took home the gold medal. TERAL Gedi-Loore of Estonia finished in second place, while the bronze medals went to KRZYZANOWSKA Maria (Sweden) and NOVOSJOLOVA Elisabeth (Estonia).

Paris Welcomes the Best in U14 Foil 

The U14 foil events in Paris brought together a highly competitive field, where fencers from Asia, Europe, and the Americas battled for the podium. 

In the boys’ foil, CHENG Bob from Hong Kong secured gold after an outstanding display of technical precision. South Korea’s TAN Junghyun of SINSU took silver, while the bronze medals were awarded to DOELL Ethan (USA) and JURAS Dominik (Lithuania). 

The girls’ foil final saw an all-international mix of competitors, with the USA’s WANG Joanna capturing gold. ZHANG Yixin (China) took silver, and the bronze medals went to JOO Natalie (USA) and LUO Miranda (USA).

Ub Hosts a Thrilling U14 Épée Tournament 

The competition in Ub, Serbia, concluded an exciting weekend with intense épée duels in both boys’ and girls’ categories. 

In the boys’ épée, SEREV Simeon of Bulgaria emerged victorious, claiming the gold medal. Serbia’s GLADIC Nemanja secured silver, while MATIC David and RAPIC Relja, both from Serbia, earned bronze medals. 

The girls’ épée final saw PETKOVIC Una of Serbia clinch the gold, while Bulgaria’s KURTAKOVA Radostina took silver. The bronze medals were awarded to Serbian fencers VRANJES Kalina and NOVAKOVIC Isidora.

Upcoming Events on the Cadet and U14 Circuit 

The excitement continues next weekend with high-level tournaments in multiple European cities. Krakow will welcome cadet épée fencers for both individual and team events, while Prague will host cadet sabre competitors looking to showcase their skills. In Sofia, Bulgaria, foil fencers will take center stage in both cadet and U14 categories, providing another excellent opportunity for young athletes to compete on an international level.
