Fencing for Everyone Circuit in Sofia: Results 

The Fencing for Everyone Circuit in Sofia concluded this weekend, leaving spectators and participants alike in awe of the exceptional talent showcased across two days of thrilling competition. Hosted by the Bulgarian Fencing Federation, the U23 Epee and Sabre tournaments brought together athletes from across the globe, highlighting the spirit of international fencing. 

Men’s Epee 

The Men's Epee event opened the weekend with Marcus Vokes Brobakken from Norway securing the top spot. His precision and composure carried him to a well-deserved victory, while Bulgaria's own Rahim Rashaida captured the silver medal, delighting the home crowd. The bronze medals were awarded to Finn Bennet of Great Britain and Edoardo Manzo of Italy, both delivering outstanding performances. 

Women’s Epee 

In the Women’s Epee competition, Bulgaria celebrated another triumph as Victoria Velislavova claimed the gold medal with an impressive display of skill and determination. Latvia’s Sofija Prosina took silver, and the podium was rounded out by bronze medalists Eliisa Kikerpill of Estonia and Olivia Eadie of Great Britain, whose efforts did not go unnoticed. 

Men’s Sabre 

The Sabre events also provided memorable moments. Italy dominated the Men’s Sabre individual category, with Marco Mastrullo taking gold, Lorenzo Ottaviani earning silver, and Antonio Tallarico and Pietro Bertola sharing the bronze. 

Women’s Sabre 

Meanwhile, in the Women’s Sabre, Benedetta Fusetti from Italy emerged victorious, outmatching her competitors to secure gold. Kazakhstan’s Dilyara Issabekova claimed silver, while Karolina Bechynova of the Czech Republic and Bulgaria’s own Vasilena Krasteva shared bronze, adding to the host nation’s success. 

Men’s Epee Team 

Team events brought an additional layer of excitement to the competition. Spain’s Men's Epee team demonstrated exceptional coordination to secure the gold medal, edging out Belgium, who took silver, while Israel’s cohesive efforts earned them bronze. 

Women’s Epee Team 

In the Women’s Epee team event, Bulgaria’s team delivered a powerful performance to claim the top spot, followed by Italy in second place and Great Britain’s first team in third. 

Men’s Sabre Team 

The Men’s Sabre team event saw Bulgaria shine once again, with the home team taking gold in front of an ecstatic crowd. Azerbaijan secured the silver medal with a strong showing, while Italy added another bronze to their medal tally. 

Women’s Sabre Team 

In the Women’s Sabre team event, Bulgaria’s dominance continued as they claimed gold, with Spain’s team earning silver and Italy taking the bronze. 

This weekend’s event in Sofia was a testament to the skill and dedication of the athletes who participated, as well as the unwavering support of fans and the seamless organization by the Bulgarian Fencing Federation. With inspiring performances and unforgettable moments, the Fencing for Everyone Circuit continues to promote excellence and inclusivity in the sport, paving the way for future events across Europe.
