Grodzisk Delivers Intense Battles and Home Glory
The U14 European Circuit event in Grodzisk Mazowiecki brought together promising sabre talents from across Europe for a day of exciting matches and international camaraderie. Young athletes from across the continent filled the pistes on Saturday, 24 May, eager to earn valuable points and leave their mark on the 2024/2025 Tour.
Strong Showing by Polish Fencers
In the boys' sabre, Bulgaria’s Ivaylo Andonov impressed with a sharp and consistent performance, claiming the gold medal after a solid campaign. He was joined on the podium by Poland’s Jan Białożyński, who fought his way into the final and secured silver in front of a supportive home crowd. The bronze medals were awarded to Great Britain’s Bijan Muganwa and Poland’s Bartłomiej Kamiński – both delivering courageous fencing throughout the day.
The girls' competition saw an all-Polish final, with Emilia Lizak capturing the gold ahead of teammate Julia Głazewska. Spain’s Violeta Martí Prada and Poland’s Marianna Sosnowska completed the podium, taking joint third after well-fought semi-final appearances.
Grodzisk Confirms Its Role on the Tour
This edition of the U14 European Circuit in Grodzisk once again underlined the importance of these early-stage international tournaments in identifying promising young athletes and promoting cross-border friendship and respect. The electric atmosphere, passionate supporters, and high technical level made it a weekend to remember.
