26th October 2022 marks the 31st anniversary of the foundation of the European Fencing Confederation. The anniversary gives me the opportunity to send a heartfelt thanks to all the Federations, that make a fundamental contribution to the Confederation’s life.
In this circumstance, I invite everyone to thank the athletes and their families, the technicians, and the managers who keep our system alive. They deserve credit for the work they do, without which the continental structure would have no reason to exist.
Celebrating our 31st anniversary is a tribute not only to the current participants but also to those who in the past have made an invaluable contribution to our sport.
Dear President, dear colleague, dear friend, through you I want to send to those who represent the lifeblood of the Confederation – that is, the athletes, children and adults, champions and beginners – my personal greetings and those of the Executive Committee.
I am sure that you will see in this message a sign of the attentiveness and solidarity of our system, and I would like to take this opportunity to send cordial greetings and our hope for a future of peaceful coexistence for the growth of our sport.
