In its urgent meeting on May 8th, 2023, the European Championships as an integrated part of the European Games in Krakow were discussed.
The EFC COMEX decided to continue honouring the Congress decision and carry on with the organisation of the European Championships as part of the European Games in Krakow, at both individual and team.
It is an important step to strengthen the position of fencing in the Olympic programme; this alignment is crucial in maintaining fencing within the European Olympic family. Reintegrating and consolidating fencing into the European Games will be a significant achievement of the EFC.
Therefore, the EFC Congress decision to host the 2023 European Championships in Krakow remains unchanged.
Significant impetus is given to promoting and developing fencing in Europe and Poland in particular.
