Another gold medal for Emanuele Nardella at Foggia 2019 Cadet and Junior European Fencing Championship, the second, after the one gained last Saturday for the individual competition. Tha athlete, from the Dauno Fencing Club, together with his teammates Pietro Torre, Giorgio Marciano and Marco Abate won again, defeating Russia 45-30. The italian sabre team debuted 45-28 with an easy victory against Azerbaijan, then, during the quarter finals beated Ukraine 45-23 and in semifinals overcame Hungary 45-33: Nardella was the protagonist also in the team competition, that ended the Cadet programme. Bronze medal to Hungary, defeating France for conquering the third place.
A gold medal for Italy also in men epee: the italian team, composed by Dario Remondini, Simone Mencarelli, Filippo Armaleo and Enrico Piatti, defeated Hungary 45-34 after beating Israel 45-26, Great Britain 45-27 in quarter finals and Poland 45-34 in semi-finals. Bronze medal to Russia, defeating 45-27 the polish team in the final for the third place.
The italian female foil team composed by Matilde Calvanese, Margherita Lorenzi, Lucia Tortelotti and Giulia Amore achieved only the fifth place: the italian girls have been defeated in quarter finals by the french team 37-36. Russia won the gold medal, beating France 45-35, Ukraine won the bronze medal against Poland 45-25.
The Cadet programme ends with Italy leadind the medal collection with 4 gold, 1 silver and 7 bronze, with a total of 12 medals.
