A Personal Message from EFC President Pascal Tesch on the “Safe” Project
A Message from the President
The European Fencing Confederation shares a personal message from its President Pascal Tesch, who invites the entire fencing community to take part in an important initiative aimed at using our sport as a tool for healing and inclusion.
“Dear Presidents, Secretaries General, and Fencers,
I am proudly supporting the “Safe” project — an initiative that develops and deploys therapy programs for women who have been victims of sexual violence.
A key element of this initiative is research, and for that, we need your support. I invite each of you to dedicate a few minutes to complete this short survey:

Your participation — and sharing the link among your communities — will help us strengthen our data, deepen our understanding, and ultimately increase our impact.”
Fencing Beyond Competition
While competitive fencing remains our foremost priority, our mission also embraces a wider social responsibility. Fencing is more than a sport; it is a medium of connection, growth, and healing.
Through initiatives like the “Safe” project, we aim to show how fencing can support recovery, empowerment, and inclusion — transforming the values of respect and discipline into real-life impact.
A Vision for the Future
In the coming months, the EFC will highlight further projects where fencing serves therapeutic and inclusive purposes— from programs assisting cancer patients and individuals with autism, to fencing activities for people from underprivileged backgrounds.
Together, we can ensure that our sport continues to inspire — not only on the piste, but also in society.
Take Action
Your voice matters.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and help us expand the reach of fencing as a force for healing and inclusion.
