Cadets and U14 fencers shine across Europe in Budapest, Godollo, Riga, and Brindisi

Four events, one spirit

This weekend, from 8 to 9 November 2025, young fencers from all over Europe are competing in four international tournaments — showing once again the depth of talent and passion growing across our continent.
The Cadet Circuits in Budapest and Godollo bring together the best épée and sabre fencers under 17, while Riga hosts the U14 European Circuit in both épée and foil, and Brindisi welcomes U23 athletes for an intense weekend of high-level épée fencing.

Budapest – Cadet Circuit Epee

The Hungarian capital welcomes an extraordinary number of participants for one of the season’s largest cadet events. The programme includes men’s individual and team competitions and women’s individual and team events, held across both days of the weekend.
On Saturday, 8 November, Budapest hosted the men’s épée individual and women’s team events, followed by the women’s individual and men’s team on Sunday, 9 November.
The scale of participation is remarkable — 450 men competed in the individual event, with 73 women’s teams taking to the piste, confirming Budapest’s status as a central stage for European épée.

Godollo – Cadet Circuit Sabre

In nearby Godollo, the sabre piste comes alive with speed and precision. The event follows a similar format, with men fencing individually and women in teams on Saturday, and the reverse schedule on Sunday.
This competition also reached impressive participation levels, with 269 men in the sabre individual event and 40 women’s teams contesting the title.

Riga – U14 Epee and Foil Circuit

Further north, the Riga U14 Circuit celebrates the youngest generation of European fencers. The épée competition takes place on Saturday, while foil follows on Sunday, allowing athletes to gain valuable experience in an inspiring and friendly atmosphere. Riga continues to build its reputation as a warm and well-organised host for developing talents.
