The city of Orleans (FRA) was hosting the highest level of European sabre fencers, both women and men coming as members of club champions of their respective countries. After 3 days of fencing in the FIE Grand Prix competitions, the teams voted for the formula with direct elimination table where all places were fenced. By the end of the day the organizers were celebrating the big succes winning in women and men competitions despite very strong teams coming from Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Spain, Great Britain and Romania. Bad luck touched the teams from Germany, obliged to withdraw because of one Covid positive fencer in their delegation in Orleans. The extraordinary high level of the event was supported by 5 referees from Tokyo OG among 6 designated by the EFC and rewarded by price money offered by the EFC. The implementation of that project was carefully followed by N. Mateev ISL (Vice President of the EFC), A. Ferraro ITA (Member of the EFC Executive Committee) and J. Kralik SVK (EFC Sports and Technical Director)
