Thursday 24 June the opening ceremony of the European Games will be held
The European Games, the multidisciplinary continental event based on the model of the Olympic Games, is just around the corner. Established in 2012, the third edition will take place in Krakow and the Małopolska Regions of Poland from 21 June to 2 July 2023. This great event will gather in Krakow 29 sports, 7,000 athletes from 48 different nations, all located in 23 different locations.
Fencing will be the main event in the Tauron Arena, the largest indoor arena in Poland and also one of the most modern in the world. TAURON Arena Krakow can host sports competitions, and the facility also hosts concerts, festivals, film screenings, musicals, galas and conventions, among others. The facility can accommodate 22,000 people, and there are seats prepared for as many as 15,030 people in the stands of the Main Arena.
It will be possible to see the athletes on the pistes from 25th to 30th June with the individual competition of foil, epee and Sabre. 467 athletes from 39 different countries will be the main actors who will compete to win the individual title of the European Games. On June 25, the women's foil and the men's sabre will kick off the continental event, and then leave the floor on June 26th for the men's foil and the women's epee. To close the individual competitions will be the men's epee and the women's Sabre. From 28 June to 30 June, the teams will then begin, as well as the Olympic qualification stage, to fight to win the most precious metal and climb to the roof of Europe.
