The Georgian, after a World Cup season crowned with successes, also won the European title by putting the most prestigious medal around his neck. The victory was the result of a perfect competition: first beating the Turkish Yildrim Enver in the semifinals 15-7, and then winning against Szatmari Andras in the final 15-11.
