The foil fencer Tommaso Marini dominated his rivals since the beginning: after debuting 15-4 against the romanian Alexandru Pirva, his march goes on 15-7 against the ukranian Daniil Tkach and 15-6 against the polish
Piotr Borowiek, 15-4 against another polish Jan Jurkiewicz, 15-7 against the russian Vladislav Mylinkov in semifinals and 15-8 in finals against another russian Anton Borodachev, winning the gold medal.
Bronze medal, together with Mylnikov, the french Armand Spichiger who defeated the italian Pietro Velluti 15-9.
The italian Giulia Arpino won the bronze medal in women sabre defeated by the hungarian 15-13.
Italy leadind the medal collection with 5 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.
