CADET CHAMPIONSHIPS FINISHES WITH THREE MORE CHAMPIONS CROWNED
The last three team events took place today on day ten of the Cadet European Fencing Championships bringing the tournament to a close.
Italy topped the table in the Men’s Team Epee event as their lineup of Giacomo Pietrobelli, Mattwo Galassi, Jacopo Rizzi and Fabio Mastomarino collected the European title. Hungary – Agoston Ko, Adam Horvath, Domonkos Pelle and Bulcsu Farkas - collected the silver medal after losing in the final. Israel completed the podium as Omer Baruch, Ilay Segal, Alon Sarid and Bental Liman received the bronze medal.
In the Men’s Team Foil event Hungary – Ambrus Budahazy, Kean Horvath, Albert Bagdany and Almos Balint – claimed the title beating Great Britain – Jaimie cook, David Sosnov, Callum Penman and Nye Ulferts Kilpatrick – in the final. The bronze medal was claimed by France who lined up with Adrien Helmy-Cocoynacq, Louis Pradel, Jean-Baptitse De Belval and Numa Crist.
The last event of the Cadet competition saw Hungary on top of the podium again as Zsanett Kovacs, Anna Spiesz, Emese Domonkos and Liza Bognar took the European title in the Women’s Team Sabre event. They beat Romania – Amalia Stan, Maria Alexe, Rosemarie Benciu and Alexandra Mitrus – in the final as France – Roxane Chabrol, Aurore Patrice, Exechielle Martinez Almansa and Alejandra Manga – completed the podium in the bronze medal position.
