Men's epee and women's foil juniors events

During the 8th day of the Cadet and Junior European Fencing Championship the last two medals for individual competitions were assigned: Italy collected one gold and two bronze medals, confirming its leadership.

In Junior Women Foil Category Serena Rossini won the first place 15-11 against the russian Anna Udovichenko. During the competition, she defeated 15-11 the ukrainian Alina Poloziuk, 15-4 the german Pia Ueltgersforth, the hungarian Nora Hajas and, at the end of a well balanced semifinal, in extra-time, she defeated her teammate Martina Favaretto 12-11. Together with the italian, at the third place, the other russian Adelina Bikbulatova.

 

Bronze medal in Men Epee for Junior Category, the italian Davide Di Veroli, who debuted 15-11 against the estonian Jaron Kiiroja, and, in the following eliminating round, against the russian Daniil Rudykh. Fearless, he won 14-9 against the other italian fencer De Mola, defeated the finnish Akseli Heinamaa, during a very strategic semifinal (characterized by the italian team complain for many contested referee decisions). He was defeated 15-12 by the hungarian Mate Tamas Koch, the gold medal winner with the final score 15-8 against the austrian Alexander Biro. At the third place of the podium, together with the Italian Di Veroli, the finnish Topias Taurjainen.

 

Italy still on command of the medal collection with eight gold, one silver and ten bronze medals.
