DIALOGUE TO CREATE DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN NORTH MACEDONIA FENCING FEDERATION, KOSOVO, MONTENEGRO AND BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA.
On 12th of November 2022, by invitation, President of the European Fencing Confederation, Giorgio Scarso, visited Zoran Stojanovic, President of the North Macedonia Fencing Federation.
The President had the opportunity to attend a senior, junior, and cadet tournament organised by the North Macedonia Fencing Federation: an event with high technical conditions, a reasonable number of entries, and geographical representation. The participants came from North Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece, and Croatia. The athletes who competed have reached good numbers, surpassing 150 entries in the tournament. In this way, it was possible to observe and become aware of the potential and opportunities for growth and promotion these countries can offer to the fencing movement that the Confederation is interested to support.
During his two-day stay, President Giorgio Scarso had the opportunity to meet and get in touch with the fencing authorities of Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They expressed their gratitude for his interest and hoped that the Confederation would be involved in promoting and organising fencing in their respective countries. The President has reassured the leaders and representatives of these Federations that they will receive an answer in the near future regarding their requests. In this regard, at the next meeting with the EFC Comex, we will be discussing the opportunities and possibilities for assistance, and support will be evaluated. The visit to Skopje ended with a meeting with the President of the Olympic Committee of North Macedonia. It addressed issues about participation in the European Games 2023 in Krakow and the implementation of a synergic action between the EFC and the Olympic Committee of North Macedonia in support of fencing. The collaboration aims to spread and make known the sport of fencing within Macedonia.

Dialogue pour développer des opportunités entre la EFC et les Fédérations d’Escrime de la Macédoine du Nord, du Kosovo, du Monténégro et de la Bosnie Herzégovine
Le 12 novembre 2022 le Président de la EFC Giorgio Scarso, s’est rendu en Macédoine, à Skopje, où il a rencontré le Président Zoran Stojanovic de la Fédération d’Escrime de la Macédoine du Nord, sur invitation de ce dernier.
Le Président Giorgio Scarso a assisté à un tournoi organisé par la Fédération de la Macédoine du Nord, réservé aux athlètes seniors, juniores et cadets. Les participants, outre à être très nombreux numériquement (plus de 150 inscrits au tournoi), été d’une qualité technique très élevée et provenaient de différents pays, non seulement de la Macédoine, mais aussi de la Serbie, de la Bulgarie, de la Grèce et de la Croatie.
Cette expérience a permis au Président de la EFC Giorgio Scarso de noter et apprécier la potentialité et l’opportunité de croissance et de promotion que ces pays peuvent apporter à l’escrime en tant que sport.
Durant son séjour en Macédoine, à Skopje, le Président Giorgio Scarso a pu connaître et contacter les représentants des Fédérations Escrime du Kosovo, du Monténégro et de la Bosnie Herzégovine ; ces derniers ont remercié Mr Giorgio Scarso de l’intérêt qu’il leur a démontré et ils ont exprimé leur espoir de voir la Confédération participer à la promotion et à l’organisation de l’escrime dans leurs pays respectifs.
Le Président a assuré aux responsables des fédérations présentes que dans un futur proche ils auront une réponse à toutes leurs demandes et qu’à la prochaine réunion du COMEX seront affrontées et étudiées les différentes formes de promotion et de collaboration en leurs faveurs.
La visite à Skopje, s’est conclue avec la rencontre avec le Président du Comité Olympique de la Macédoine du Nord, durant laquelle ont été affrontés les thèmes liés à la participation aux Jeux Européens 2023 à Cracovie et à la mise en œuvre d’actions concordées et synergiques entre le EFC e le Comité Olympique de la Macédoine du Nord. Cette collaboration a comme objectif la diffusion de l’escrime dans tout le territoire macédonien.
